About Us
Hi, I’m Aleem Iqbal. I built bytestombps.com to make one confusing thing simple: your apps show speeds in MB/s or KB/s, but ISPs advertise Mbps. People shouldn’t wrestle with bits vs bytes, decimal vs binary, or “why does my download manager say 12 MB/s when my plan is 100 Mbps?”
The converter is fast and obvious: type a rate in Bytes/s, see Mbps instantly, and optionally view MB/s. You can switch between Decimal (SI) and Binary (IEC) scaling for KB/MB so labels match what your tools actually use.
What I care about
- Accuracy first. Clear formulas (e.g., Mbps = (B/s × 8) ÷ 1,000,000) and transparent notes on SI vs IEC.
- Privacy by default. No accounts or saved entries; calculator inputs stay in your browser.
- Speed & clarity. Clean UI, mobile-friendly layout, and instant updates as you type.
- Accessibility. Keyboard-friendly controls, sensible focus states, and readable typography.
Where this is going
- Download-time helper (estimate time from file size & Mbps)
- Copyable share links with pre-filled numbers and SI/IEC preference
- Optional CSV/PDF export of quick tables
- Dark mode and tighter mobile ergonomics
